We do this by slowing down and taking our time to get to know you, your home, your goals and your wishes. Each Prairie Blue design is inspired by and reflects its owner’s discerning taste, lifestyle and personality.

The landscape design journey should be one of excitement and discovery. At Prairie Blue, we believe this wholeheartedly, embracing a highly collaborative approach. The best design occurs when the designer and the client have open and honest communication — this philosophy is at the heart of our process.
The steps to an extraordinary design.
Below are the steps you can expect to follow as you progress through our design process.

Get to know one another.
Every project begins with an on-site consultation, where you give us a tour of your property and we listen and learn about your goals, wishes and style preferences.

Tour completed Prairie Blue projects.
Following the initial consultation, you are welcome to tour one or more of our completed projects to gain inspiration, discover the possibilities for your new landscape and see the quality of our work.

Come to a design agreement.
Next, you complete a formal design questionnaire so that we have a complete understanding of your project. This leads to a design services agreement outlining the project scope, services, preliminary budget and design fee.

Approve design concepts.
Upon acceptance of your design services agreement, we explore the possibilities for your landscape through sketches, drawings and renderings. You will have a chance to review and provide feedback on the initial concepts during meetings with your design team.

Approve the budget.
Following approval of the conceptual design, you will be presented with an installation budget including line item pricing as well as our recommendations for phasing construction.

Sign an installation agreement.
Upon approval of the budget, you will receive an installation agreement listing the milestones required to complete your project. This includes developing the construction drawings required for permit and for use by our craftsmen to build your project seamlessly. A detailed planting plan with images is presented for your review and approval.

Construction begins!
When you have approved the construction drawings and plant selections, we update the installation cost to reflect the current design. Then, with your approval, the construction process begins.
